Perde Mendafshi

After two weeks of long wait my Dupioni Silk for my display drape finally arrived, and within two days I managed to sew the drape and paint the display wall. These last few days were long working days and I feel that I am exhausted, but on the other hand I am overly happy with what I saw at the end.

The drape looks stunning. I am sure you agree too. However, despite the love as well as a lot of lining and interlining that I put in making this drape, it is not me that it made this drape look as beautiful as it is, but it is the SILK fabric itself.

Perdja duket per mrekulli, dhe besoj se edhe ju pajtoheni me kete konstatim. Megjithate, as vullneti me te cilin e qepa kete perde e as astari dhe nen astari qe ja bashkangjita gjate qepjes nuk jane ato qe e bejne kete perde kaq te bukur, por eshte materiali i mendafshet qe flete per veteveten.


For the silk colour I chose the deep olive, and since dupioni silk weave combines silk threads of different thickness and colours, it makes the fabric appear to change colours as it moves, giving it that metallic sheen finish which continues to be trendy in home furnishings; these trendy metallic finishes continue to provide a sophisticated sense of drama and elegance to any environment.

For the display wall I chose the palette of three colours to create an ombre effect which added a very modern look to the whole set up.

Per murin ekspozues perzgjodha paletten e tre ngjyrave me nentone te ngjashme dhe kete per te kriju nje ombre efekt i cili i dha nje pamje shume moderne ketije ekspozimi.


For the styling of the display wall I created a fresh modern twist to this rather traditional drape design. I found a small deer head in white colour and spray painted in gold, and a small gold bow was framed in a simple black frame. I displayed them right beside the drape curve.
